Happy Friday! Sick of scrolling through your streaming services endlessly in search of something to watch? Our monthly “what to watch on” guides are here to help! This month we’re recommending movies & TV shows to watch on Prime Video.
Since our weekly newsletters review the brand new TV that comes out, these monthly special editions are a place to highlight the rest. Not quite a “Best Of” list for the platform, we aimed for a collection of movies and TV shows we think you should check out that include underrated faves, shows we’ve been re-watching, and more.
We hope you find something in here that sounds up your alley for your weekend watching. And if you missed it from prior months, you can find our What to Watch on Netflix list here and Hulu here.

10 TV Shows to Watch on Prime Video
Primo (2019-2021)
Length: 30-min runtime, 1 season / 6 episodes
One of my favorite new sitcoms of last year, this semi-autobiographical heartfelt comedy from Shea Serrano and Michael Schur portrays the complexities of growing up in a close-knit family. Balancing school, friendships, and advice from his single mom and five overbearing uncles, a 16-year-old Mexican-American boy navigates his adolescence in San Antonio, Texas. — JC
Dead Ringers (2023)
Length: 60-min runtime, Limited Series / 6 episodes
Rachel Weisz is mesmerizing as twin gynecologists in this modern reimagining of Cronenberg's body-horror classic. Developed by Alice Birch (Normal People), the limited series dives into the complexities of women's healthcare with unflinching realism, navigating taboo themes like fertility and abortion using a darkly humorous and surreal vehicle. It’s ambitious, disturbing, and a prime example of how to update an old classic for a modern audience. — JS
