Happy Friday Eve. We’ve officially reached the point in the year when 5pm feels like 10pm and Google searches for S.A.D. lamps spike. What a perfect time to check out a few new shows that you can cozy up to and embrace the darkness.
Speaking of cozying up, next week the team is taking a break from TV writing for the Thanksgiving holiday. Never fear though, a Sunday Edition will hit your inboxes at the end of the month, as scheduled. Happy Turkey Day in advance! Don’t forget to share Double Take with your fam ;)

Jenni’s Rating: A
Colin from Accounts is an Australian comedy series (arguably my favorite genre these days) starring, created, and written by husband-and-wife team Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer. The full first season premiered overseas nearly a year ago, but the show began streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. just last week.
The premise is fairly simple: two struggling and flawed, but endearing individuals, Ashley and Gordon, are brought together by a car accident and an injured stray dog that they name Colin. Despite efforts to resolve the situation quickly and go their separate ways, they remain in each others orbits and begin to bond through proximity, a joint sense of dark humor, and blunt honesty.
Brammall and Dyer have incredible on-screen chemistry, which — while likely informed by the comfort of their long off-screen partnership — still manages to feel fresh and true to their Colin from Accounts characters. They are hilarious together and only buoyed by the pitch-perfect performances of their supporting cast. From the understated plot to the witty writing and acting, everything in this series works well. The people feel real, the conversations are ones you want to be apart of, and the jokes are often laugh-out-loud funny. It’s a charmingly, wonderfully ordinary take on a comedy that I would bet is only going to get better with time.
